Expansion of the Graduate School
Nagoya Fushimi Campus
To provide more of an opportunity for highly-motivated students to acquire specialized knowledge and skills, we are promoting an integrated undergraduate/graduate educational program which stresses its link with the Graduate School.
The Graduate School attaches great importance to the concept of assurance of learning, and to produce graduates who will become pillars of society, a program has been developed that focuses on the necessary knowledge and communication skills.
Branch campuses of the Graduate School were opened in Tokyo (Marunouchi) and Osaka (Umeda) in 2005 and 2007 respectively. We are now proud of being the nation's largest graduate school accommodating 360 students and aiming at 500 students within three years and 1,000 students in ten years. Plans are underway to open branches outside of Japan and increase partnership programs with foreign universities. Efforts have been made to create an appealing graduate program by orienting it towards the structure of a business school on the Euro-American model.
The 3 + 2 System
Complete the undergraduate program in 3 years, and the graduate program in 2! As an example of the integrated undergraduate/graduate program, we have introduced the 3 + 2 System whereby students can complete the undergraduate program in 3 years and advance to graduate studies, which can be completed in 2 years. In other words, it is possible to earn MSc in Management (Master of Science in Management) in just 5 years! Compressing the undergraduate program into 3 years definitely saves time and money!

Globalization
An era of communication between peoples of the world, transcending ethnic identities and national borders. An era which is giving rise to new value systems.
After a serious examination of this trend, the university formed partnerships with some of the finest universities and business schools in the world to enable students to acquire a true international sensibility as well as the intelligence and learning on par with global standards, thus preparing them to lead in the new era.
Alliance Program
The overall purpose of this Alliance Program is to provide participants an opportunity to be exposed to the international business environment and practices outside Japan. In addition, this program provides participants an opportunity to develop insight into the cultural, social, and political environments of each country to be visited. Participation in the Alliance Program is a unique way for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in international business, or a related field, to acquire a firsthand view of international business practices, and experience the excitement of traveling outside the Japan.

Assurance of Learning
Companies are being forced into fierce competition in a world which is fast becoming borderless. As a university specializing in business education, we are constantly pursuing our educational activities based upon the principle of "Frontier Spirit" on which the university was founded, in order to produce graduates who can survive in the present globalized, competitive environment.
The NUCB is strongly committed to the improvement of student learning through evaluation of our undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Careful consideration has been given to what we think students should know, accomplish, or demonstrate in their course of study. We focus our efforts on assuring that each student has repeated opportunities to improve their skills and capabilities in regards to these attributes.
In addition to the results of written examinations, student grading is based upon a comprehensive assessment of factors relating to their daily studies, such as whether or not students are engaging in self-study with their required textbooks, class attendance, paying attention during class, and the quality of the two written reports required per semester. Also, faculty are required to create a good study environment, provide detailed course outlines, hold all scheduled classes, grade reports judiciously, improve the course content based on the course evaluations, and make available past questions from regularly scheduled examinations. However, for those students who are having real difficulty with their studies, re-examinations, intensive courses, remedial courses and other components of an academic safety net have been put in place to support those students who wish to continue to pursue their studies to the end.
