You will be able to gain a 4-year bachelor of business administration (BBA) jointly held between the Management and International Studies Faculties.

Is NUCB internationally recognized?
NUCB are one of 817 business schools in 53 countries and territories that have earned AACSB Accreditation. There are only three other schools in Japan that also have AACSB.

How many international students are studying at NUCB?
Each year NUCB brings in more than 100 students from over 30 different countries. We are renowned for our diverse campus, which was recently recognized by Times Higher Education (THE) who ranked us the best university in Central Japan for “internationalization”.
What programs do you have to go abroad?
At NUCB, internationalization is of the utmost importance. You can study abroad at one of our excellent partner universities on an Exchange Program, Double Degree Program, Frontier Spirit Program or Summer Program.
You can conduct your research while traveling in one of the following programs: Global Field Study Program A (around the world for 80 days), Global Field Study Program B (around North and South America for 65 days), Global Field Study Program C (around Asia for 65 days) or our Gap Year Program (around Europe for 70 days)
You can also work abroad on our International Volunteer Project or take part in CAPI (our overseas internship program) within ASEAN countries.
How many years does it take to obtain a bachelor degree at NUCB?
It takes four (4) years to complete our undergraduate programs.
Where is Greater Nagoya?
Greater Nagoya is Japan's third largest metropolitan area after Tokyo and Osaka. Home to front-running companies such as Toyota, Greater Nagoya is clean, safe, and an exciting area to live in. Located in central Japan, Greater Nagoya functions as the transportation hub of the country making travel to other destinations fast and easy.
Where is the undergraduate campus located?
NUCB’s main undergraduate campus is located in Nisshin Nagakute; a natural setting, providing a calm and quiet environment that is very suitable for students to pursue their studies.
The campus of NUCB serves as an optimum place of learning where students can acquire academic leadership skills and new friendships. The campus covers an area of more than 700,000 square meters, which is equivalent to 1.5 times the size of Tokyo Disneyland.
Close to campus students can find plenty of shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants and the recently opened IKEA.

What career support does NUCB offer?
NUCB has a dedicated Career Support Office to help students in their job search. For the 2017 Academic Year, 99.2% of students were successful in finding employment. Students also have the choice of entering straight into our world-class graduate school program, the only AACSB and AMBA accredited school in Japan, ranked #1 in Japan by QS Rankings.
How can I apply?
Please ensure to check our application guideline here. Admission is held twice a year, April and September.
Students must submit an online application as well as follow all points in the guide. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed and applications outside of the deadline will not be accepted.
When and where will the interview be held?
An interview is required of all applicants. Domestic applicants (residents of Japan) must come to one of NUCB’s campuses (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Nisshin Nagakute) to take an interview examination.
For residents outside of Japan, we will conduct an interview using Skype.

I see NUCB has multiple rounds for application. Can I apply multiple times a year?
Yes, you can, but you cannot apply twice within the same stage.
I have never been to Japan and I do not speak Japanese. Can I still study at NUCB?
Japanese language proficiency is not required, but would be an advantage. However, students can take Japanese language classes to ensure they can live comfortably whilst in Japan.
Is English proficiency required to all applicants?
An official score of TOEFL, IELTS or TOEIC is required of all non-native speakers unless the language of instruction at high school was English. Please check the application guide for the required scores.
Can I submit an official English test score slightly after the deadline?
No. All required documents must be submitted during the application period.
Can I re-use my application documents for another application stage?
No, we will discard all application documents once all admission rounds are over.
Is an IB score, SAT or ACT required to apply?
No. Students will require 12 years of education and be 18 years of age by the time of entrance. However, IB scores, SAT, or ACT will be taken into consideration for students entrance and scholarship outcome.
I cannot pay the application fee using PayPal, what should I do?
There are two methods of payment; PayPal and bank transfer. Our bank details are available on our application guide.
How many letters of recommendation do I need to submit?
One letter of recommendation is usually sufficient. It should be written by an individual qualified to write about your potential for success in both a business program and professional career from the applicant's most recent educational institution. In order to assure full confidentiality the letter must be sealed in an envelope, with a sign across the seal.
I only have one set of original certificates. Do I have to submit the original?
An official high school transcript must be submitted. Please have your high school issue a certified copy. School transcripts must also be certified by a school official. If the high school will not issue a certified copy, you will be required to submit the original documents, which can be returned upon prior written request.
Can I still apply if I have less than 12 years of education?
You may apply to the university if you have completed more than 11-years of education at an educational institution designated by Japan’s Ministry of Education (MEXT), even though your country's standard length of education is 11 years. If your education system only requires 10 or 11 years to finish high school then you will need to attend pre-university courses or the equivalent until you fulfill the 12-year education requirement.

Am I required to send original documents with my application? Is it possible to send a photocopy instead?
Applicants must submit either original certificates or certified documents. (A certified document is one that has been marked as being equivalent to the original with a stamp or seal by the issuing institution (preferred) or a notary public).
May I submit any original documents by fax or online?
No. NUCB must receive your official documents by post. We strongly recommend using express mail that can be tracked such as EMS, FedEx, DHL, UPS etc.
What happens if an application is submitted without an application fee?
NUCB will not screen applications without confirming the payment of the application fee. In principle, NUCB will not contact applicants regarding unpaid application fees.
How long does it take until I receive my admission result?
After completing your interview, your application will be screened and you will receive your notification as stated in the application guide. Results are mailed out by post for domestic applicants on the scheduled result notification day and by both email and post for overseas residents. We will not respond to inquiries by email or phone.
When am I supposed to arrive in Japan?
NUCB will advise you on the dates that you should arrive on campus. You should not arrive on campus earlier than the specified dates as there will be no available rooms in the dormitory, and you will have to look for your own for accommodation.
What assistance does NUCB provide to help me when I first arrive?
We hold several orientation sessions for new students before classes start. We have lots of friendly staff and current students to help you adjust to your new life in Japan.
How can I apply for Student Visa?
International students need to follow the procedure below to apply for a Student visa:
1. Complete "Certificate of Eligibility" (COE) form with application guide and send to NUCB
2. If accepted to NUCB and paid all required fees - Receive COE and "Letter of Admission" (LOA) from NUCB
3. Apply for a Student Visa to the nearest Japanese diplomatic mission (embassy or consulate) by submitting both COE and LOA
NUCB works very closely with every applicant and the Immigration Bureau to make sure applicants are able to receive their COE and student visa.
You must submit all required documents (original copies only) with correct information to be able to receive your visa on time.
Please be advised that the Immigration Bureau of Japan and your local Japanese embassy/consulate make all final decisions.
ABOUT STUDENT LIFE
Is it expensive to live in Japan? Are there dormitories available?
Unlike many universities in Japan, NUCB guarantees a stay of 4-years in a private, one bedroom apartment close to campus to give you peace of mind. We have almost 800 rooms across more than 10 locations with rent for a one bedroom furnished apartment starting at 14,500 yen per month with scholarship. Students can, therefore, live comfortably with around 100,000 yen per month to cover food, transportation, rent, utilities, and entertainment. School materials are included with tuition and the school offers discounted transportation tickets. Many students also choose to do part-time work while studying to help cover expenses with plenty of options both on and off campus.

Do I have the chance to meet the local students?
Yes! We have a friendly atmosphere on campus and there are lots of activities organized to ensure interaction and cross-cultural understanding among our students. Furthermore, we have a student organization dedicated to promoting international exchange between our international and Japanese students. CESA (Culture Exchange Student Association) regularly organize special events such as sports days, cultural nights, tea parties, etc.

Are services in English available for non-Japanese speakers on campus?
We have English speakers throughout our campus.
Can I work part-time?
If you wish to do part-time work as an international student on a student visa, you are first required to apply for a work permit that allows you to work up to 28 hours per week part-time while school is in session.
During breaks and vacations, you are permitted to work up to 40 hours a week.
How do most students commute to campus? Can students have a car or motorbike?
The city of Nagoya is serviced by a comprehensive public transportation system. The school also provides easy access to campus via a local bus. As a student, you will be eligible to purchase discounted bus tickets. Many students also drive a car or motorbike with more than 1,400 spaces available.
What dining options are there on campus?
On site, NUCB has a 7-11 convenience store and a MosBurger. We also have a restaurant with two floors and our recently opened Sora Cafe, serving healthy lunch and hot and cold beverages.

No, NUCB does not have a loan or grant program.
