GENERAL REQUIREMENTS for Business Professors
NUCB is committed to mixed classes of students to achieve cultural diversity. Faculty teaching within the Global Leadership Program our required to focus on strong content alongside of the demanding nature of running a class consisting of students at varying levels of English proficiency.
WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR ENGLISH TEACHERS
The Faculty of International Communication (DIC) consists of academically and professionally qualified, native speakers from all corners of the globe in order that students become rapidly familiar with natural English.
Class sizes are kept small and a positive environment where students need not feel shy about making mistakes in pronunciation and grammar is maintained. The DIC expects our students to graduate not only with a high-level of English, but also with international experiences and a widened perspective on the world.
Integrated Active Learning provides a stage for proven improvement in students' English Language skills, particularly in the more practical aspects of listening and speaking. In terms of TOEIC, our students increase on average over 100 points a year. We also have programs to develop not only English skills, but also cultural and international awareness. Our students travel all over the world on the Frontier Spirit Program, the International Volunteer Program and the recently introduced, and first of its kind in Japan, GAP Year Program.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS for English Professors
It should be stressed that the DIC program focuses on practical language skill learning at a somewhat basic level, compared to typical ESL/EFL environments in the US, Europe, and elsewhere. Successful candidates should not expect to be teaching at a sophisticated level in their own discipline, nor should they expect to teach literature or linguistic based courses. Moreover, all faculty members within the DIC teach, essentially, the four communication skill areas. We are, however, actively seeking individuals who can make a significant contribution to the Faculty of Communication in skill areas essential for the improved language performance and competence of our students.
