Human Resource Management: The Future of Work in the Sharing Economy

With the latest technological advancements including the internet, pervasive computing, and mobile payments, sharing economy is breaking new frontiers as it opens new avenues of doing business. It also reshapes the nature of work and the employment relationship at the workplace .

In this demo lesson, we will explore and discuss the nature of the relationship between Uber Technologies, Inc., and its drivers, and develop alternative courses of action and policies to address workers' concerns under the sharing economy.

Dr. Hui Profile

Dr. Hui is an Associate Professor in the area of management at NUCB Business School. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (Organizational Behavior and Management) from City University of Hong Kong. Prior to joining NUCB, Dr. Hui taught in five different universities in Hong Kong and Macau. He has extensive experiences in delivering Business Management and Human Resource Management courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

His academic interests include leadership, employee coaching, HRM, work motivation, and employee adaptation in organizational contexts. His research work has been published in numerous international refereed journals, such as Journal of Organizational Behavior, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Australian Journal of Management, and Career Development International.
