Students Present Midpoint and Final Cases in the Case Writing Seminar

On Thursday, July 23, Global BBA students presented their midpoint and final case projects as part of the Case Writing Seminar, a two-year course where students write original business cases to be used for class discussion.
Midpoint Presentation
The midpoint presentations focused on cases in progress. Students explained why they chose their topics, what they had researched so far, and how they planned to shape the case.
Examples included a case on crisis response at SeaWorld and another examining platform transparency and customer relationships at Robinhood.
Classmates and instructors offered feedback, helping students refine their approach and clarify their goals.
Final Presentation
For the final presentations, students introduced their completed cases and described how they could be used in a class setting.
One case looked at United Airlines’ overbooking incident, highlighting how communication between management and frontline staff could be structured to prevent similar events. Another focused on working conditions at MAPPA, using the case to explore labor issues in the animation industry.
Students were encouraged to balance their own interests with the needs of future learners who might engage with their case in class.
In the final stage of the seminar, students in CWS IV, taught by Professor Sandy, also gave demo lessons using their own materials. This allowed them to experience how cases work in practice—not just from the learner’s perspective, but also as instructors.
