Soyoung Kim

Biography

Soyoung holds a PhD from S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University. Her doctoral thesis explains the evolution of antimilitarism and its effect on security policy in postwar Japan. For this project, she conducted fieldwork in Tokyo as a visiting research fellow at Waseda University. Soyoung has a Master in Public Policy from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. Soyoung’s research interests lie in the geopolitics of Northeast Asia, the securitization of public policy, and the role of norms in policy processes.
