Masamichi Ishii
Management Professor

Biography
After graduating from the Department of Social Engineering at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Professor Masamichi Ishii worked on the Research and Development Team at Shimizu Corporation. His research included the development of Underground Space, Electronics, Biotechnology, and Low-Cost Water Treatment in Indonesia. He obtained his master's degree in Public Policy from Harvard University, and later worked as a Japan-U.S. Research Project Manager at Harvard University Kennedy School, Senior Research Officer at National Institute of Science & Technology Policy, and Scholar of the Value Creation Initiative (Sumitomo Corporation) at the Research into Artifacts, Center for Engineering (RACE) of the University of Tokyo. He has written the book 'Strategic Management of Discontinuous Innovation', and is involved in many academic societies such as the Strategic Management Society, The Academy of Management, Japan Management of Technology Society, and Japan Venture Society. He currently teaches in the Faculty of Management at NUCB.
