The NUCB Online Winter Program in January 2021

The NUCB Undergraduate School and the NUCB Business School are proud to jointly announce the launch of the first-ever NUCB Online Winter Program, Business for a Better World.
Providing students with an opportunity for interaction and academic growth during their winter break, the program consists of a week of online lectures at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supplemented by presentations from industry experts and culminating in a final group project and presentation.　

Thorough analysis and discussion of shifts in consumer and organizational behavior toward the main pillars of sustainability will delve into the key factors informing the decisions of tomorrow’s business leaders, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG).

Sustainability is increasingly becoming an integral concept in determining how societies will function in the future, especially in relation to how businesses will conduct their operations. The strength of the challenge posed by sustainability to the dominant corporate zeitgeist is owed to the mounting and often alarming evidence of its necessity, which has forced consumers worldwide to rethink their lifestyle choices and buying behavior.

As consumer priorities evolve under the weight of ethical considerations and governments respond to their citizens’ demands for regulatory oversight, the continued success of today’s businesses and organizations depends on their ability to adapt to these shifts. There are countless cases of businesses whose collapse is due to their inability to change with the times; conversely, history has proven that the ability of an organization to adapt gives it a great competitive advantage, particularly when oriented towards the greater good.

This program is designed to identify the data points that define this transformative movement towards sustainability in business and how it is taking shape across the world, exploring the key issues and concerns that businesses are facing in their approaches to sustainability, and to develop strategies for addressing them while forecasting the potential challenges that lie on the horizon.
