Inside ALLEGIS Group: GBBA Students Explore Global Career Opportunities

NEW

On May 30, the NUCB Career Support Center organized its second company tour of the year to a foreign-affiliated firm in Tokyo, continuing the initiative launched last year to support career development for international students.

Thirteen students from ten different countries took part in the visit to ALLEGIS Group Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of one of the largest talent solutions providers in the United States. The tour provided students with a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand insights into working at a global company in Japan, broaden their professional perspectives, and deepen their understanding of potential career paths in an international business environment.

Company Tour Details

Headquartered in the United States, ALLEGIS Group boasts global sales exceeding 1 trillion yen and operates in over 100 locations worldwide. The Japanese branch reflects this international presence, employing staff from 25 different countries and regions. Students found the office environment especially welcoming for GBBA students, noting its diversity and the seamless use of both Japanese and English in daily communication.

The visit began with a comprehensive overview of the company by a member of the HR team, followed by short immersive sessions across three key departments. Highlights included a live explanation of sales operations from a client-facing representative, a mock career counseling session for job seekers, and an inspiring lecture delivered in English by a foreign national who currently serves as a general manager of a branch office in Japan.

The experience offered students valuable insight into what it’s like to work in a global business setting in Japan. Many participants expressed high levels of satisfaction with the tour, describing it as both eye-opening and motivating. The event not only broadened their understanding of career opportunities but also helped them envision and define their own career paths more clearly.

Career Support for International Students Expanding

The Global BBA (GBBA) Program, which served as the focus of this company tour initiative, currently enrolls 207 students from 49 countries (as of May 2025). Including other regular international students studying in Japanese, the total number of international students at the university exceeds 300.

In addition to company tours to foreign-affiliated firms operating in Japan, the Career Support Center offers tailored support through individual company information sessions and one-on-one career counseling. Efforts are also underway to expand both paid and unpaid internship opportunities for international students during their studies.

For students with a strong desire to work in Japan, the university is actively supporting career paths leading to foreign-affiliated companies as well as Japanese global corporations.

Alumni have already begun securing positions at major Japanese manufacturers and international firms. Moving forward, the university remains committed to providing robust career support by engaging with companies that can accommodate English-speaking students—helping to raise career awareness and facilitate successful job matches.
