Projects in collaboration with Nisshin City

The "Marketing Theory" class taught by Professor Yuji Ono, Director of the Faculty of Commerce was featured in the morning edition of the Chunichi Shimbun (Owari-Higashi edition) and in the "Chunichi BIZ Navi".

In this class, the Faculty of Commerce and the local city of Nisshin collaborated to conduct a case as part of the "Proposal-Based University Collaboration Collaborative Project (the Nagoya University of Commerce and Business (NUCB))". Using the case of Nisshin City Hall, we asked the students what are the issues facing Nisshin City? What are the measures to promote the SDGs that can take advantage of Nisshin City's strengths? What kind of partners can be involved, and what kind of effects can be achieved as a result? The selected students made a presentation and received feedback and comments from the people in charge at Nisshin City Hall.

Commerce students propose measures to promote the SDGs

The students who participated in the class not only discussed the SDGs but also had a valuable opportunity to present in front of the actual case participants from the City Hall Planning Policy Division and receive feedback and comments directly from the City Hall staff. Through the class,  students discussed and made proposals on real social issues of the SDGs and experienced having their ideas evaluated.

Practical Education in the Faculty of Commerce

The Faculty of Commerce has fully introduced the field method into its curriculum and has been selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for its "Intensive Education Program for Human Resource Development Project to Support Knowledge Intensive Society".

NUCB is the only school in the Tokai area and one of only three universities in Japan to be selected. The Faculty of Commerce is developing cutting-edge practical education necessary to survive in the coming age. The School of Commerce's "Marketing Theory," taught by Professor Yuji Ono, is the foundation of this educational program.

The classes are also introduced on the Nisshin City website (in Japanese).
