Intercontinental Fusion: Cross-Cultural Event at Meito International Dormitory

#GBBA #InternationalDormitories

On Friday, July 21, an engaging cross-cultural exchange event took place at the Meito International Dormitory. The purpose of this event was to foster meaningful interactions among international and Japanese students residing in the dormitory. Resident Assistants (RA's) play a crucial role in supporting these students and organizing events to enrich their daily lives.

For this particular event, the RA's took charge of planning, preparation, and management. The highlights of the event included serving Nagashi Somen "flowing noodles", a traditional Japanese summer dish, and Temakizushi - "hand rolled sushi". It provided a wonderful opportunity for the international students to bond with their Japanese counterparts before their imminent return to their home countries.

The event saw an impressive turnout, with over 30 participants, and a well-balanced mix of international and Japanese students. Meito Dormitory hosts a diverse group of students, ranging from Japanese students, exchange students, and international students studying in English or Japanese. The exchange students, in particular, cherished this occasion as it marked their final exchange experience before heading back to their respective countries.

Excitingly, the upcoming fall semester is set to welcome the largest number of exchange students ever, creating an atmosphere of anticipation for late August when the RA's will once again showcase their dedication and support in the dormitory.
