Sookyoung Lee

Biography

Dr. Lee is an Associate Professor at NUCB Business School, Nagoya University of Commerce and Business. She received her Ph.D. in Management and Organizations from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Before joining NUCB, she built a broad range of experiences across the public, private, and academic sectors, working as a government officer, a consultant, and a professor at organizations including the Korean Broadcasting Commission, LG Economic Research Institute, HEC Paris, and Kean University (Wenzhou, China).
Dr. Lee’s guiding philosophy is the “mutual growth of business and society.” In line with this belief, her research examines how social perceptions of firms—such as legitimacy, reputation, and identity—shape their behavior and performance, and how companies can create value for society through social entrepreneurship, corporate philanthropy, and corporate social responsibility. Her work has been recognized with Best Conference Paper Prizes (and nominations) at the Strategic Management Society and published in outlets such as the Academy of Management Proceedings and the Journal of Social Entrepreneurship.
