Masamichi Yamamoto

Biography

Prof. Masamichi (Masa) Yamamoto is a professor of law and a lawyer qualified in New York. He holds a B.A. in Economics and an LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) from Keio University, a J.D. (Juris Doctor) from Vanderbilt University Law School and an S.J.D. (Doctor of Juridical Science) from The University of Iowa College of Law. While attending Vanderbilt University Law School, he served as an Executive Authorities Editor of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law, and he now serves as a member of the Board of Advisors of the Journal. Before joining the Faculty of the NUCB in April 2022, he worked for Tokyo Electric Company, Milbank LLP, Ropes & Gray LLP, Dassault Systemes, Financial Services Agency / Securities Exchange Surveillance Commission, Kamiya Law Office, and most recently, LINE Corporation as Head of Legal Department. He has also taught "International Business Law Practice" and "In-House Legal Practice" at Keio University Law School, "International Securities Regulation" at The University of Iowa College of Law and "Introduction to Financial Instruments and Exchange Act" at FSA/SESC. He passed Certified Public Accountant Exam in California and Bar Exam in New York.
