Enrollment Procedure
Overseas Remittance
We kindly ask that you use CONVERA for overseas bank transfers. For domestic bank transfers please refer to the Enrollment Guide. Please note that the transfer will require several days before it can be received by the university, therefore, we ask that you be sure to allow enough time to meet the deadline.

Step 1: Entrance Fee
A non-refundable Entrance Fee of 270,000 JPY is required for all students (regardless of scholarship amount) to enroll at NUCB. Please be sure to pay the Entrance Fee only after you have firmly decided to enroll at NUCB and have made a clear and firm financial plan to cover your expenses both before and after your enrollment to NUCB. The deadline for payment will be confirmed alongside your acceptance letter.
Step 2: Tuition Fee
Students accepted to the program are required to pay the first semester's fee to secure their place.
- Spring (April) Entrants: 618,500 JPY
- Fall (September) Entrants: 610,000 JPY
The University will not accept any remittance after the period in any circumstances. Make sure to check your payment deadline in the following section.
If payments are not completed within the designated periods, your acceptance into the University will be cancelled.
Once fees have been paid and all necessary documents have been received by NUCB, the process to obtain a student visa will begin.

Step 3: Document Submission
Please be sure to submit all the necessary documents by the deadline. Please send all the documents directly to NUCB by registered air mail or express mail service, such as DHL, FedEx, OCS, EMS, etc.

*A certified document is one that has been marked as being equivalent to the original with a stamp or seal by the issuing institution (preferred) or a notary public.
**English or Japanese translations are required for any of the above documents written in languages other than English or Japanese. Pease submit an official translation that includes the translator's name, address, contact details, and signature or official seal. NUCB will only accept translations created by the original document's issuing institution, a translation company, or a licensed translator.
First Year Students:
If you have not received your graduation certificate yet or have not submitted a Certificate of Expected Graduation, you must submit one with your required documents. We only accept official certificates issued from your school. (If you submit a Certificate of Expected Graduation, you must also submit your final graduation certificate before enrollment.)
Transfer Students:
Transfer students must also submit their most recent academic transcripts. If you have not yet graduated from the higher education institution you studied at before transferring to NUCB, you may submit only your most recent academic transcripts by the document submission deadline.
Applicants must meet the university entrance criteria before the enrollment date at NUCB. Applicants admitted into the University in the prospect of satisfying one of the requirements should fulfill the requirement before the enrollment date; otherwise, the offer of admission will be revoked. Note that your enrollment eligibility may be revoked if you do not successfully graduate from high school・ are not able to receive an IB Diploma, Abitur or GCE A-Level (2 or more subjects).

Step 4: Student ID Photo
- STEP 1 Prepare the data for your Student ID photo. We recommend using a mobile application to set the dimensions below.
・ Vertical 4cm x Horizontal 3cm・Facing front, upper body, no hat, plain background, taken within 3 months.
- STEP 2 Please follow the link or QR code to digitally upload the photo.
- STEP 3 You will receive a confirmation email after sending your photo in step 2.
Step 5: Student Visa
If you live outside Japan and will need a student visa, please follow the steps listed on the Student Visa Application page in order to obtain your student visa.
If you live in Japan and already possess a student visa, please review the information on the Renewing Your Student Visa page. In addition to renewing your student visa, there are other procedures you will need to complete.

Refund Policy
Refund of Tuition Fee When a Student Cancels Enrollment
Those who wish to apply for a refund of tuition/fees after declining admission before enrollment must do so in writing before the last day of March for entrance in Spring or the last day in August for entrance in Fall. No claims for refund will be accepted on or after the enrollment date.
*The one-time entrance fee is non-refundable.
Important Note
・Any incomplete document may delay or prevent the refund.
・No changes can be made after the submission of the request to refund.
・The refund amount will be sent and processed by bank remittance only. Please note that any bank commission for overseas remittance will be deducted from the remitted amount.
・If you have been selected as a recipient of the NUCB Tuition Reduction Scholarship or NUCB IBDP Scholarship the status will be cancelled once you complete the refund procedure.
*Make sure to complete the procedure before the deadline. The University will not accept any request after the deadline under any circumstances.
