Ami Sato

Biography
Ami Sato is an Assistant Professor in Faculty of International Studies at NUCB. She obtained B.A. and M.A. in Commerce from Otaru University of Commerce (Japan), and M.A. in Discourse Studies at Lancaster University (UK). She completed her Ph.D. in Linguistics at Lancaster University in 2018. Her main research interests include Im/Politeness, Discourse Analysis, and Computer Mediated Communication. She is doing research on language use in interpersonal interactions from the perspective of rapport management. She is also interested in the use of audio-visual media in teaching English.
