NUCB’s 2025 Entrance Ceremony

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, NUCB Undergraduate and Graduate Schools held their entrance ceremonies in grand fashion to mark the beginning of the 2025 academic year.

With cherry blossoms in full bloom and a calm spring breeze in the air, the day felt like a warm embrace, celebrating the arrival of our newest students. While many faces showed a hint of nervousness, there was also a clear sense of excitement and determination as they took their first steps on a journey toward a bright and promising future.

Pioneering New Frontiers — Taking the First Step with a Global Standard of Learning

A total of 1,065 new students from Japan and around the world were warmly welcomed into the NUCB community.

In his speech, Chancellor Hiroyuki Kurimoto reaffirmed NUCB’s mission to cultivate future leaders through globally accredited business education. As the university approaches its 90th anniversary, he emphasized NUCB’s renewed commitment to nurturing individuals who embrace diverse values and possess a truly global perspective.

Touching on themes such as “the essence of brilliance” and “common sense and values,” the Chancellor encouraged students to explore a wide range of academic disciplines and to value learning in an international environment.

He concluded his speech with a powerful quote from the university’s founder:
“Do not follow the path that is already open—pioneer uncharted territory.”
With these words, he expressed his hope that each student will rise to the challenge ahead with passion, courage, and ambition.

“An Experience That Moves the Soul” — Insights on Learning and Leadership from the AMBA CEO

At the 2025 Entrance Ceremony, NUCB had the honor of welcoming Mr. Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of AMBA & BGA (The Association of MBAs and the Business Graduates Association), who traveled from the United Kingdom to deliver a special address to the incoming class.

AMBA is a globally respected organization that accredits top-tier business schools in over 70 countries. NUCB holds the distinction of being the first institution in Japan to receive AMBA accreditation and is proud to be among the elite 2% of business schools worldwide with the prestigious “Triple Crown” accreditation—AMBA, EQUIS, and AACSB.

Drawing from his extensive international experience, Mr. Wilson spoke passionately about the importance of receiving a “global-standard” education. He emphasized that in today’s unpredictable and rapidly evolving world, success requires intellectual curiosity, resilience, a global mindset, and an openness to learning from others.

He encouraged students to take full advantage of NUCB’s dynamic learning environment—enhancing their business knowledge, creativity, and technological understanding—to grow into leaders capable of making a lasting impact on society.

Mr. Wilson concluded his speech with a powerful message:
“The value of life is measured by how many times your soul has been deeply moved.”
With these words, he offered heartfelt encouragement and inspiration for the exciting journey ahead.

Global BBA Student Speech

Ariel Abad (Argentine), a 1st year GBBA student enrolled this Spring, gave a inspirational speech in representation of all the new international students joining NUCB this April. His words resonated with fellow students and faculty alike, emphasizing the importance of embracing challenges, cultural exchange, and the global mindset that NUCB fosters. We are proud to welcome Ariel and all new students to our diverse and dynamic community.

Celebrating the Beginning of Student Life

Following the entrance ceremony, the atmosphere outside the venue was filled with energy and enthusiasm as senior students from various sports and cultural clubs warmly welcomed the newcomers. They introduced their clubs and circles, sharing the unique activities and experiences that make student life at NUCB truly vibrant.

Club and circle participation offers students invaluable opportunities to broaden their horizons, build friendships, and enrich their university journey beyond the classroom. The new students listened intently, their faces lit with excitement and anticipation for the adventures that lie ahead.

As faculty and staff, we sincerely hope that each student will make the most of their time at NUCB—gaining not only academic knowledge but also life-changing experiences. May their days on campus be filled with growth, connection, and lasting memories.
