Cultural Enrichment Activities - Spring 2025 Kayaking Experience in Ena

On May 19, NUCB hosted an exciting kayaking experience for our full-time Global BBA students and exchange students in Ena, offering them a wonderful opportunity to connect with Japan’s stunning natural environment.

Perfect Weather for a Day on the Water

Although the weather forecast was uncertain until the day before, the event day greeted us with warm, perfect conditions ideal for kayaking. After a brief and easy-to-follow instruction session on land, students eagerly set off onto the water. Those with prior kayaking experience confidently paddled ahead, while some others jumped right in with great excitement. Even students who had felt nervous beforehand — especially those who couldn’t swim — found themselves paddling proudly and confidently by the end of the kayaking session. A few adventurous participants also took on stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), discovering their own unique ways to enjoy the day freely and actively.

Relaxing Moments at Ena Gorge

After an energetic time on the water, the group enjoyed a well-deserved lunch before heading to the scenic area of Ena Gorge (恵那峡) for a relaxing afternoon.
Renovated in March 2020, this spacious area provided the perfect setting for students to stroll, shop for souvenirs, and relax together with the friends they had made through kayaking.

Some students who have visited Japan multiple times before said this was their first time trying kayaking here, while others mentioned that this day was the highlight of their study abroad experience so far. It’s safe to say that this adventure left them with wonderful memories to cherish for years to come.

Global BBA Program
