An unique summer experience for high school students in Japan

SUMMER SCHOOL 2024


This summer program (7/24-7/28), is designed to draw out the curiosity and leadership skills of high school students through a variety of workshops and activities, including case method classes that challenge problem-solving and cross-cultural experience activities. We look forward to welcoming prospective students considering enrollment in our program and those who wish to experience learning at NUCB.

Eligibility

Students enrolled in Grade 10-13 at the time of the program, with at least conversational English proficiency. All nationalities are welcome to apply.

For English language requirements: hose who have studied abroad for more than 1 year or lived abroad within the past 5 years, or English proficiency with Eiken Pre-1st grade, TOEFL ITP 500 points, TOEFL iBT 61 points, IELTS 5.5, Duolingo DET 100 points or higher.


Application Period


Applications will open on Monday, 18 March 2024, and close on June 28, 2024. Results will be announced by email within a few days of submitting your application. If the self-introduction video does not sufficiently confirm your English language skills, an online interview will be conducted.

Application Flow to Arrival

  1. Submit Online Application: Submit an online application using the link below.
  2. If you do not meet the above English language requirements, you will need to create a self-introduction video in English and share the link with us. The content, lasting 3-5 minutes, should include your self-introduction, your motivation for participating in the summer program, and the appeal of the NUCB and the Global BBA Program. Please use Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box, YouTube, etc.
  3. Offer: You will receive a decision via email after submitting your application.
  4. Fee Payment: We will invoice you the amount of the program fee; once payment is received, your place will be reserved.
  5. Additional Information: Please send a copy of your ID document (passport for international students). Japanese-domiciled students should send a copy of their health insurance card. If you are coming from overseas, a copy of travel insurance valid for the whole duration of your stay is required.
  6. Meet the NUCB team: We will pick you up at Nagoya station at around 8:30 on July 24th. We recommend booking a hotel in Nagoya the night before at your own expense if you are coming from outside Japan or far from Nagoya City.

Visa Requirements

Many nationalities qualify for a visa exemption and do not need a visa for short-term stays in Japan. Nationalities not included in the list on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) website must apply for a visa on their own or through a travel agent, or the nearest Consulate, before attending this program. NUCB cannot sponsor any visas for this program, but can provide a letter to the Japanese Consulate in your area to support your tourist visa application. It is important to understand the application process before making arrangements. Give yourself ample time to prepare.

Please let us know if you have any allergies, dietary requirements, or religious considerations so that we can ensure everyone can enjoy the gathering safely and comfortably.


Fee/Cost: ¥140,000 JPY


This is the total cost covering tuition, accommodation, food, excursions, etc. Fees are non-refundable except for cancellation due to illness, accident or other unforeseen circumstances. Notice must be given no less than 14 days before the start of the program for a refund.

Does not include airfare to and from Japan or travel insurance. All participants are required to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover the entirety of the program.
