At Nagoya University of Commerce and Business, the employment rate for the class of March 2026, who graduated this spring, reached 98.7%. This marks the second consecutive year the university has maintained this high level, and it has consistently exceeded the national average employment rate for universities for many years.
We have implemented a unique career support program, resulting in a 92.8% satisfaction rate among graduates regarding their job placements.
At our university, which is recognized as a top university for employment, the key to our career support lies in operating our own unique career support programs and providing thorough individualized support that addresses the career paths of each and every student. We provide opportunities for students to participate in various programs, such as overseas internships where they gain work experience at Japanese companies in Asian countries, Job Offer Preparation Seminars and Job Training Workshops where they prepare for the selection process—including self-analysis and interview practice—under the guidance of senior student mentors. Through these initiatives, we gradually cultivate students’ awareness of the job market. Furthermore, during third-year guidance sessions and individual career counseling—when support intensifies—we encourage students to aim for positions at listed companies such as those in the Nikkei 225 and JPX 400 indices. As a result, 32.3% of this year’s graduates who secured employment offers came from listed companies.
Furthermore, a survey of students who secured employment showed a satisfaction rate of 92.8% with their new employers, the highest result in the past five years. By providing ongoing advice based on a centralized database that tracks each student’s individual preferences and the ever-changing job market landscape, we are able to offer precise support tailored to each student’s needs.
Nagoya University of Commerce and Business’s Unique Career Support Program
Overseas Internship (Career Advanced Program International)
The university organizes work experience programs lasting from three weeks to three months, primarily for Japanese companies operating in Southeast Asia and India. By taking on these practice-oriented internships, students hone their initiative and independence. Furthermore, by immersing themselves in an overseas environment outside of Japan, they gain practical business experience while cultivating a global perspective, which greatly helps them visualize their future careers and shape their professional paths.
Job Offer Preparation Seminar
This is a five-day on-campus seminar held during the summer and winter breaks, designed to help you thoroughly analyze yourself. The quality of your self-analysis is key to securing a job offer that truly satisfies you. By reflecting on and analyzing yourself while listening to lectures by professional instructors and advice from upperclassmen, you will not only gain insights useful for industry research and job selection—essential steps in the job-hunting process—but also develop the skills to navigate all stages of the selection process, including resumes, application forms, and interviews, with ease.
Job Search Workshop
This is a two-day intensive training program in which corporate HR representatives are invited to campus to serve as mock interviewers, delivering lectures to students and conducting interview practice in a realistic, real-world setting. Through realistic mock group discussions, group interviews, and individual interview practice, students hone their “first impressions”—a critical factor in the job search process.
