Junko Motohashi
Professor
After graduating from university, Dr. Motohashi began her career at the Research Institute of Sanno University, focusing on the planning and development of corporate learning programs related to human resource development. Her work spanned a wide range of themes, including management, leadership, innovation, and diversity. During this time, she established the Corporate Ethics Promotion Support Solution Team and, as project manager, provided consulting services to a variety of industries—from steel and beverage manufacturers to major retail groups and infrastructure companies.
In parallel with her professional work, Dr. Motohashi enrolled in the Graduate School of Commerce at Keio University to explore these approaches more deeply from a theoretical perspective and earned her Ph.D. She later served as an associate professor at the School of Management, Sanno University, before taking up her current position.
Her current research focuses on the relationship between integrity-based ethical management and meaningful work, using an empirical approach informed by normative theory.

Dong-Sheng Tsai
Professor
Dr. Tsai was previously an Associate Professor of Information Systems at the University of Tsukuba before assuming his current position. With a long-standing career in education and research, his expertise spans high-performance computing, AI, quantum computing, data science, and space exploration. He has worked at both domestic and international research institutions, including the University of Tsukuba, Stanford University, NASA, and the University of Paris VI in France.
Dr. Tsai’s strength lies in delivering education that seamlessly integrates theory with practice. Particularly, he focuses on bridging business and technology, teaching students the practical applications of AI and data science.

Yoko Nishide
Associate Professor
Dr. Nishide holds an M.B.A. from Waseda University and a Ph.D. from Hitotsubashi University. After working at Nomura Securities Co., Ltd., she became a visiting associate professor at Nagoya University of Commerce and Business in 2024, before assuming her current position in April 2025.
Dr. Nishide’s main research interests include behavioral economics, financial literacy, and household finance. She is actively engaged in the empirical analysis of household financial behavior, financial literacy, and financial decision-making from a behavioral economics perspective.

Mitsuru Uemura
Full-time Lecturer
Dr. Uemura holds a Ph.D. in International Social Sciences from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tokyo and studied at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Strasbourg. His research focuses on international relations, with a particular emphasis on the European Union (EU) and French immigration and refugee policies, analyzed from both legal and political perspectives. Recently, Dr. Uemura has been studying the foreign policies of the EU and Japan during the period of change in the liberal international order, particularly examining their relationship with international organizations such as the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Tae Seok Kim
Associate Professor
Dr. Kim holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Management from Emory University. Before assuming his current position, he served as an assistant professor at the School of Commerce, Waseda University. His research lies at the intersection of organizational theory and strategic management, focusing particularly on how organizational structure and cognition influence behavior and outcomes. Using quantitative methods such as network analysis and natural language processing tools, Dr. Kim’s work spans topics like corporate innovation and sustainability in a global context. His recent research includes a project on the organizational transition to climate change mitigation technologies within the automotive industry.

Yaeko Hori
Associate Professor
Dr. Hori holds an M.A. from Sophia University, an M.A. in TESOL from the University of Chichester (UK), and a Ph.D. Her research is highly interdisciplinary, spanning applied linguistics, psychology, sociolinguistics, migration studies, and phenomenological philosophy and methodology. Her work consistently addresses contemporary issues—not only in language use and learning but also in human communication, coexistence with AI technologies, and, more recently, identity formation. Dr. Hori’s current research explores human identity from a posthumanist perspective, grounded in phenomenological theories and methodologies.

May Oo Khin
Full-time Lecturer
Dr. Khin, a researcher with over 10 years of experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL), holds an M.A. in English Language Studies from Mandalay University, Myanmar, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from Tohoku University. Her research focuses on the development of 21st-century skills through English language education, aiming to motivate students by creating an engaging and thought-provoking environment that supports their academic growth.

Yiming Jia
Full-time Lecturer
Dr. Jia earned her Ph.D. from the Graduate School of Humanities at Nagoya University in 2024. After serving as an Assistant Professor at the Center for Gender Diversity at Nagoya University, she assumed her current position. Her research specializes in sociolinguistics, with a particular focus on the relationship between gender and language. She is especially interested in the language use of sexual minorities, as well as in Japanese-Chinese contrastive linguistics and Chinese language teaching methodologies.

Soyoung Kim
Full-time Lecturer
Dr. Kim earned her Ph.D. from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) at Nanyang Technological University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the evolution of anti-militarism in postwar Japan and its impact on security policy. As part of her research, she served as a visiting scholar at Waseda University, where she conducted fieldwork in Tokyo. Her academic interests include the geopolitics of Northeast Asia, the securitization of public policy, and the role of norms in the policy-making process.
