The NUCB International Affairs team hosted orientation for our new intake of students starting from the Spring 2024 semester. The event took place on March 25th and 26th, and covered a broad range of content to help everyone adjust to their new life here in Japan and at NUCB. This spring we welcomed a total of 73 new students enrolled as both full-time and exchange students, coming from 34 different countries.

Learning About Daily Life In Japan and NUCB

Despite the rainy weather, volunteers who are currently studying at NUCB helped all the new students navigate their way to the Nisshin Campus in the morning. The first day of orientation covered daily life in Japan and an extensive Q&A to address any concerns. The day also included a campus tour so that students could familiarize themselves with the campus layout and facilities. Many commented on the huge size of our campus!

The second day of orientation focused on the history of NUCB and academic life here. Prior to the day starting, all students were tasked with reviewing a case in preparation for a Case Method Orientation held by Professor Hakeem. Many students were keen to discuss the topic at hand from the get-go, which created a lively atmosphere in the auditorium. Following this, students learned about the academic structure and policies in preparation for the new semester.

To conclude the day, the Aichi Police visited to discuss a number of important rules and social norms in Japan. Among the many topics discussed, students learned about how to prepare in case of an earthquake since many haven't experienced one before. Our full-time students were also given a separate briefing which covered the Global BBA program and some of the opportunities they have during their studies at NUCB Undergraduate School.
