For the 3rd session of “Human Resources Management” taught by Prof. Ray, the students embarked on a journey through the training corridors of a global fast-food giant, Hardee’s. Delving into the heart of HR challenges encountered during their Pakistan debut, students dissected the intricate layers of their training programs and strategies. From the ADDIE Training Design Processes to the nuanced Kirkpatrick’s Four-level Framework of Learning Evaluation, students uncovered the essential tools in crafting effective training initiatives.

Case Study: Training Dilemma at Hardee’s

In this case study, the students delve into the myriad challenges encountered by Hardee’s as it expands into new markets. From navigating recruitment and selection strategies to grappling with culture clashes and addressing training gaps, the complexities of human resource management come to the forefront.

The students explore the intricate dynamics of workforce availability, demographic diversity, and the critical importance of training and development initiatives. This case serves as a reminder of the formidable obstacles inherent in managing a global workforce.

Crafting Solutions: Group Exercise

In an engaging group exercise, students undertook the challenge of designing bespoke training programs tailored to six distinct roles within Hardee’s. Aligning training topics, methods, and evaluation criteria to each role’s unique demands, students delved deep into the practicalities of HR strategy implementation.

Students brought forth a rich tapestry of insights, unraveling threads of cultural differences, localization vs. globalization debates, and the pivotal role of Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) in recruitment and selection processes.

In this session, students didn’t just learn about HR challenges — they became architects of solutions, armed with knowledge and inspired to navigate the complexities of the global HR landscape.
