School of International Studies Partners with 189 Universities in 63 Countries Worldwide, Supporting Students in Building Authentic International Careers Through Exchange Programs and Dual Degree Programs

The Faculty of International Studies at Nagoya University of Commerce and Business (Nishin City, Aichi Prefecture) leverages a network of 189 partner institutions across 63 countries to offer exchange programs and a dual degree program (DDP). Going beyond study abroad programs focused solely on language acquisition, the faculty supports students in building future global careers through practical international education that allows them to study their specialized fields in English.

Overview of Exchange Programs and Dual Degree Programs

Through our exchange program, students can enroll at one of our partner universities abroad and take regular courses alongside local students; the credits earned are recognized toward graduation requirements at our university. The duration of study abroad can be chosen based on your academic plan, ranging from one semester to one year.

Under the dual degree program, students aim to earn two degrees—one from our university and one from the partner university abroad—by completing the required credits at both institutions. A key feature unique to our university is the ability to earn two degrees in as little as one year of study abroad. Furthermore, under both programs, tuition fees at the host university are waived through our partnership agreements, allowing students to pursue a high-quality study abroad experience while minimizing financial burden.

An educational environment that supports study abroad and a wide variety of study abroad programs

At our university, students can take courses in the Global BBA program—designed for those aiming to earn a degree in English—across different departments, allowing them to gain practical preparation for studying business in English even before studying abroad. Through courses centered on the case method, students can gradually develop specialized knowledge and discussion skills right here in Japan. In addition to exchange programs and dual degree programs, we offer a wide variety of study abroad options, including short-term study abroad, language study abroad, and international volunteer programs. Students can design their study abroad experience to match their individual stage of development, for example, gaining experience through a short-term program before taking on a long-term study abroad experience.

Testimonials from Participants (Students in the Double Degree Program)

“I studied specialized subjects such as marketing and finance in English, and gained the ability to apply theory to practice through case studies. Through discussions with students from diverse backgrounds, I developed an attitude of respect for different values, and I feel my ability to think and communicate in English has greatly improved.”
