Life in Canada

Classes at McGill University are held on weekdays and students will be tested before their study abroad and placed in classes according to their English proficiency.

Classes consist mainly of vocabulary study, speaking using learned vocabulary, group games, discussions, theme-based presentations, and other enrichment activities.

On the weekends and in my free time, I often go out with my friends and host family to visit cities and tourist spots. I was able to visit Niagara Falls - the place of my dreams and was overwhelmed by the magnificent scenery.

Through classes and interaction with friends and host family

I made friends with people from all over the world, including South Korea, China, Mexico, and Ukraine. Through friendly competition with friends of other nationalities in class, my vocabulary gradually improved, and now I can enjoy conversation daily.

I always try to ask questions when I don't understand something, even if I feel uncomfortable. Placing myself in an international environment has improved my language abilities, and now I can have daily conversations without any difficulty.

Goals after returning home

I want to take the TOEIC exam to measure how much my English skills have improved, and I would like to make every effort to obtain a score in the 600s.

I will return to Japan in late August, and I promised the friends I made in Canada that I would improve my English even more than before until the next time we meet. I will continue to study English and my goal is to improve my speaking ability to meet my friends and host family again.
