With the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester, NUCB welcomed a new group of students from Japan and around the world. To help students get off to a smooth start, the International Affairs team organized a two-day orientation program introducing them to academic life, campus resources, and everyday life in Japan.
A total of 175 new students joined the Fall 2026 semester. The orientation provided an opportunity for students to learn what to expect at NUCB while also meeting classmates and getting their first look at campus life.
Getting Started at NUCB
The first day focused on helping students settle into their new environment. Student volunteers welcomed the incoming students and assisted them as they made their way to the Nisshin Campus.
Once on campus, students received practical information about living and studying in Japan. The sessions covered a range of topics that students will encounter during their time at NUCB, from administrative procedures and important university rules to useful guidance for daily life.
Students also had the opportunity to learn about activities and events taking place throughout the semester. With a variety of cultural and social programs planned, the orientation introduced students to some of the ways they can meet people, experience Japanese culture, and become more involved in the NUCB community.
A campus tour followed the morning sessions, giving students the chance to explore the Nisshin Campus and become familiar with key facilities and locations they will use throughout the semester.
The day also provided plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions and interact with both staff and fellow students. With so many students beginning their NUCB experience at the same time, the orientation served as an important first step toward building connections within the university community.
Preparing for Academic Life
The second day shifted the focus toward academics and the learning experience at NUCB. Students were introduced to the university's approach to business education and received guidance on the expectations they will encounter in their classes.
Particular attention was given to the case method, an important part of the NUCB learning experience. Students learned about the role of preparation, discussion, and active participation in the classroom, giving them an opportunity to understand how their classes may differ from their previous academic experiences.
For full-time Global BBA students, a separate program briefing was also held to provide more detailed information about their degree program. Students were introduced to important aspects of their academic journey and the opportunities available to them during their studies at NUCB.
For the new students joining the university this semester, the Fall 2026 orientation was an important opportunity to bring the new cohort together and prepare them for the semester ahead. We look forward to seeing these students make the most of their time at NUCB, both inside and outside the classroom.
