Study Abroad Interview Burgundy School of Business, France

Sarara, Faculty of International Studies

Sarara, a third-year Japanese student in the Department of English Studies, Faculty of International Studies, flew to France in December 2021 to participate in an exchange program at the Burgundy School of Business in France to study specialized business subjects in English for about five months.

We caught up with her to learn more about her reasons for going on exchange and what she hopes to gain from the experience.

Grasp opportunity with both hands

Since my high school days, I have been studying English so I could study abroad. After entering NUCB, I decided that I wanted to take on the challenge of an exchange program, so I have concentrated on improving my language skills by actively communicating with international students on campus.

I have also developed my speaking skills through the on-site Language Exchange program organized by the Self Access Center in which I taught Japanese to international students and learned English from them, I also won a prize in the NUCB speech contest.

This exchange program is my first trip abroad. I am anxious because I will be studying abroad during COVID-19, but with the support of NUCB, I can take off with peace of mind. While my friends from other universities have given up on studying abroad, I am very grateful and happy that I was given the opportunity to go.
