July 30, Summer Open Campus Report

#Open Campus

Today, we successfully hosted our Summer Open Campus, with attendees interested in the Global BBA program making special trips from Tokyo, China and Korea to join us for the event.

The event featured a variety of engaging activities, including popular case method trial classes, special lectures for parents, and detailed explanations of the university's unique characteristics and study abroad program.

In addition to these informative sessions, attendees were provided with the latest information on the 2024 application guide. To give prospective students a comprehensive experience, a campus tour was arranged, allowing them to explore the facilities, including the school cafeteria, the international dormitories, and various university clubs.

Global BBA students, Thi Han (Myanmar), Duaa (Pakistan), and Claude (Japan), generously volunteered their time to meet with prospective applicants and share their valuable insights into their decision to choose the school and their enriching student life experiences thus far.

The Open Campus received positive feedback from participants, who appreciated the opportunity to get a taste of the university's diverse attractions. Here are some photos from the event to capture the excitement and energy of the day.

Harvard Style Case Method Experience Class

  • Dean of Faculty of Commerce, Professor Ono

Professor Yuji Ono's experiential class had the theme, "If you were a marketing executive at Starbucks Coffee Japan Co., Ltd., how would you adjust the prices to compete with the rising competition from convenience store coffee?" It was a case method class that allowed students to experience the diversity of opinions and perspectives.

  • Dean of the NUCB Graduate School, Professor Iwasawa

In Professor Seiichiro Iwasawa's experiential class, the focus was on human biases and how they influence decision-making. Participants had the opportunity to experience firsthand how biases can affect decision-making processes. Moreover, there were discussions on how companies take into consideration human cognitive structures while conducting business.

  • Faculty of International Studies, Professor Warrington

In Professor Stuart Warrington's experiential class, the focus was on the differences in communication methods in the business context. Participants explored the optimal communication techniques for business while paying attention to vocabulary and pronunciation.

Programs showcasing the University's appeal

  • Special Lecture: "World-class Business Education"

During this Open Campus, we showcased the quality of our education as the only triple accredited school in Japan(AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA). The special lecture included presentations from Professor Yokoyama(formerly Vice President of APU), the Dean of External Relations at the NUCB Graduate School of Management, and Professor Hiroyuki Kurimoto, Chancellor of NUCB. The session emphasized the case method as an inquiry-based learning approach and offered valuable insights into world-class business education.

  • Campus Tour

We took pride in guiding attendees through the lush and nature-filled Nisshin Campus, which boasts the largest campus area among private universities in Aichi Prefecture. Participants also had the opportunity to explore classrooms designed for active learning, language education facilities, the newly upgraded fitness center, and the trendy Sora Cafe. Moreover, we provided a glimpse into the vibrant atmosphere of club activities, giving attendees an insight into campus life. We hope that you felt a sense of closeness to the campus and could envision what campus life here would be like.

The next Open Campus will be held on August 26 (Sat.) and 27 (Sun.). We look forward to seeing you there!
