We interviewed Pongpop who goes by the nickname Oak who joined the Global BBA Program in Spring 2022 after studying Japanese at a language school in Bangkok.
Why did you choose Japan and NUCB to further your studies?
Since my father works for Yamaha in Thailand, I have always been interested in Japan and its culture. NUCB’s Global BBA program offers numerous courses that would be necessary to provide a strong background in business. I am especially interested in Design Thinking and Introduction to Marketing.
Design Thinking will teach me how to design products that match with the market demand, allowing me to apply theory into practice. Meanwhile, Introduction to Marketing will give me a concrete understanding of marketing theories, consumer behavior and digital marketing which are beneficial for today’s business world. Furthermore, the program also provides Japanese language courses to would give me a chance to improve my language skills as well.
Are you part of any clubs or language exchanges?
There are many interesting clubs and circles here at NUCB. I love playing sports so I joined the NUCB badminton club this year. The members are friendly and anyone can join the club, even international students like me.
Being in the club allows me to make Japanese friends, practice my language skills and improve on my badminton whilst having fun.
What do you do in your free time and on the weekends?
I usually spend my free time after class eating lunch with my friends. On the weekends, I enjoy going out in the city. I also live in the International House as a mentor. They have a lot of engaging programs and activities with high school students, staff and other mentors. That makes my student life lively and incredibly enjoyable.
