Biography

オックスフォード大学大学院ニッサン現代日本研究科修士課程修了。東京大学大学院学際情報学府博士課程修了。上海師範大学人文学部世界史学科准教授、ハーバード燕京研究所訪問教員、東京大学訪問研究員を経て、2023年より現職。近代日中文化交流史を専門とする。主な研究テーマは、東アジアにおける近代知識の生産や帝国主義の台頭など。２０２１年に研究論文“Transforming an Imperial Frontier: Japanese Knowledge and the Qing Empire’s New Tibet Policy”でWang Gungwu Prize を受賞した。
