How has interacting with international students/Japanese students influenced your experience here? Have you made any connections that stand out?

Interacting with international and Japanese students has greatly enriched my experience. Understanding different cultures has broadened my perspective and shifted my mindset in a positive way. I've appreciated the unique aspects of each culture and incorporated them into my daily life. Japanese students have been exceptionally kind, polite, and respectful to everyone. I've made meaningful connections with both Japanese and international students, which has been a truly rewarding part of my time here. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to meet and interact with such a diverse group of people.

What was your first impression of NUCB’s campus and facilities? Has anything surprised you or felt particularly different from what you’re used to?

My first impression of NUCB's campus was that it's truly amazing. While it wasn't vastly different from what I'm used to, the campus stands out with its stunning natural beauty, greenery, trees, stones, and landscaping. It's far better than my previous experiences, and I've been thoroughly impressed by the environment.

How do you feel about the workload and assignments? Do they match what you expected before coming to NUCB?

The workload here is quite manageable and significantly easier compared to my home university. Although the effort required is less, I gain more knowledge and practical experience through real-world scenarios and cases. This aligns with my expectations, as my colleagues who studied here before me had mentioned the same.

What has been the biggest cultural adjustment for you, both inside and outside the classroom, and how have you navigated it?

One of the biggest cultural adjustments has been adapting to the numerous rules and manners in Japan. Initially, it was challenging, but over time, I've become accustomed to it. The language barrier was also significant, as most people speak Japanese, and learning the language has been essential for daily life. Additionally, the reliance on paper documents and the slower pace of services were surprising. However, I appreciate the organized public transportation system, even though it's different from what I'm used to and can be expensive.

If you had to pick one thing that has been most rewarding about your stay in Japan, what would it be and why?

The most rewarding aspect of my stay in Japan is the country's clean and organized environment, paired with its rich culture. The low crime rate and high sense of safety, efficient public transportation, and career opportunities (especially if you speak Japanese) are standout features. The clean environment, adherence to rules and regulations, and the affordable healthcare system through health insurance.
