Please tell us about yourself
My name is Ali, and I am an exchange student in NUCB from Pakistan. I am a 3rd year student and my major is Accounting and Finance. I am also doing a minor in Public Management. My hobbies include watching new movies and series. I also like playing board games and Cricket.
What motivated you to choose Japan for your exchange semester?
I chose to study in Japan because I’ve always been inspired by its unique blend of tradition and modernity. As a student of Accounting and Finance with an interest in Public Management, I wanted to experience how advanced systems work in a developed country. Japan’s strong education system, innovative learning methods like the case study approach at NUCB, and rich cultural environment offered the perfect opportunity to grow both academically and personally. I also hoped to learn ideas that I can bring back to help improve communities in Pakistan, especially in the field of education.
How will the case method help you for your future?
The Case Method will be incredibly valuable for my future. It has already helped me improve my critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills by allowing me to engage with real-world business and policy scenarios. It trains me to analyze situations from multiple perspectives and to think on my feet—skills that are essential in any professional field.
What dormitory are you in, what do you think of it?
I am staying in Hiroshi Hall, which is where most of the exchange students are accommodated. It’s a very comfortable and welcoming environment, and I really enjoy living here. The dorm has students from many different countries, so it’s a great place to interact, make friends, and learn about different cultures. The common areas are well-designed and provide a great space to relax, study, or socialize. One of the best things about Hiroshi Hall is that it’s located on campus, which makes it very convenient. I can easily access all the campus facilities like the library, sports gymnasium, cafeteria, and classrooms. Overall, staying in Hiroshi Hall has been a great part of my exchange experience at NUCB.
