Please introduce yourself
I’m Andy from Vietnam. I started my first year in the GBBA program last autumn, and I’ve been living in Japan for almost three years now.
What is your impression of the Case Study Method? Did you have any experience at high school with this style?
The case study method is a unique and engaging way of learning—very different from anything I’ve experienced before. It’s refreshing to actively take part in discussions instead of just listening to lectures. Back in high school, especially with the IB program, I did have to prepare for some classes, but never to this degree.
Have you done any internships or CAPI?
Yes. In February this year I had the opportunity to go on an internship to Malaysia, which was part of the CAPI program that I was in. It was a very fun and memorable experience, and it’s great that NUCB is putting so much effort in helping students form and prepare for their future career path.
Are you part of any clubs or language exchange?
I am part of the school’s Judo club, and it is a great place to train both your body and mind. Not only are you learning a new skill, but you’re also forming new meaningful relationships.
What kind of student excels at NUCB?
Unlike a lot of schools where knowledge is taught in a vacuum and students are expected to be “textbook perfect”, NUCB uses real life examples for the case study. Which is why, in my opinion, students who have a lot of social knowledge, critical thinking, and life experiences can have an edge over students who are traditionally considered academically smart.
