Please introduce yourself
My name is Keira, and I'm from Myanmar. I’m currently a Year 2 student at NUCB. I have a deep passion for fashion and marketing, and I’m planning to pursue a career in this industry after graduation.
How will the case method / NUCB network help you for your future?
One of the main reasons I chose NUCB is because of the case method. Unlike traditional lecture-based learning, we are encouraged to research topics independently and prepare thoroughly in advance. This allows us to actively participate in class discussions and learn not only from the professor but also from our classmates’ perspectives. I believe this practical, discussion-based approach is incredibly valuable for developing real-world business skills.
What has been your most memorable moment so far?
My most memorable moment at NUCB was winning first prize in last year’s Japanese speech contest with my presentation titled 「アルバイトを通して知った日本文化」(How I learned Japanese Culture Through Part-Time Jobs). I shared my personal experiences and what I’ve learned about Japanese culture through part-time work. It was such a meaningful experience for me, especially receiving encouraging feedback from the judges and audience.
Are you thinking of doing an exchange or double degree?
I'm still considering the possibility of going on exchange. NUCB has so many partner universities around the world, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to explore different cultures and academic systems. What’s great is that we can also earn credits during the exchange, so it fits well with our academic plan.
Are you part of any clubs or language exchange?
Yes! I’m part of both the CESA and Golf Club. I highly recommend joining CESA—it’s a welcoming community with fun activities that help students relax and enjoy campus life. It also offers a great chance to connect with both international and Japanese students, which really helps improve language skills.
As for golf, I joined in my first year, but I’ve become more active this semester. Our golf sensei is very patient and always encourages us to improve. The other club members are also really supportive—we help each other out, and it’s a lot of fun.
