Please introduce yourself​

My name is Ella. I am half Japanese and half Lebanese, born and raised in Dubai. I am currently an undergraduate student in the Global BBA Program here at NUCB.

Why did you want to study in Japan?

Growing up in Dubai, I lived in a highly international environment, but I always felt a strong desire to connect deeply with my heritage. I chose to study in Japan to get closer to my Japanese side, immerse myself in the culture, and learn more about my country first-hand.

What do you think of the diversity of NUCB?

The student life here is excellent, and the diversity is one of its biggest strengths. It is incredibly fun, and everyone is genuinely welcoming. You are constantly collaborating with peers from all over the world, which means life here is never boring.

What dormitory are you in, what do you think of it?

I live in the Sanbongi dormitory. I really like it because it is very close to the campus, which makes my daily commute incredibly easy and stress-free. It provides a comfortable,independent environment that makes balancing university life seamless.

Are you working part-time or planning to?

Yes, I work part-time at IKEA. It has been a fantastic experience because it is a highly inclusive environment where I didn’t even need fluent Japanese to start working. My coworkers are incredibly supportive and welcoming, making it a great way to gain professional experience alongside my studies.
