Why did you choose Japan to further your studies?

Jenny (S.Korea) Gyeongbuk Foreign Language High School S.Korea

The reason why I chose a university in another country rather than my own country Korea, is because my dream is to be a global businesswoman who has the ability to lead future innovations. I have fallen in love with Japan and it is like my second home as I have spent a lot of time there since I was a child.

Why did you choose NUCB?

For me, the diversity in student nationalities left me with no choice but to choose NUCB. I want to broaden my perspective and knowledge of the world by exchanging various views with friends from all over the world from different backgrounds, not living in a closed bubble.

Having recently joined the Global BBA Program, have you found the adjustment easy?

Of course, everyone will agree that adapting to a new environment is never easy. But I think the difficulty of adaptation lies in the environment offered, and already I feel a great sense of stability being at NUCB and in the GBBA program. Thanks to the professors and international office staff who take great care of each student, everyone can easily and quickly communicate when there are problems or things that I don't know. Also, I have made kind friends from all over the world that helped me a lot in my adaptation.

We are living in new times with lessons fully online for the time being. What are your thoughts about our online lessons, have you enjoyed them? If so, what makes them different?

I believe that the online era brought by this pandemic will one day help me in my future career. I think the best thing about online classes is that I can feel the time difference all over the world.  During the class, I can see the sunset and the sunrise at the same time. Where else can I have such an amazing experience? And since everyone takes classes at home, I can experience the culture of the world indirectly by looking at my friends' rooms or houses. Also, just because it is an online class, there is no problem with the quality of the class or communication with professors. Rather, it's much more convenient because I can make an appointment with the professors at a convenient time and have a comfortable conversation with them wherever I am. Of course, I can't wait to meet my friends in person and look around campus, but this online class is just as fun!

What are you most looking forward to once you arrive in Japan?

I want to travel from Okinawa to Hokkaido on the Shinkansen! I want to travel all over the country and visit all the famous places and eat local food as well as "Ekiben".
