Please introduce yourself

Hello, I'm Zayd. Originally from India, I've had the unique experience of being born and raised in Japan. Growing up amidst the captivating allure of Japan has instilled in me a deep appreciation for its culture and traditions. You'll often find me exploring the scenic landscapes on my bike, delving into the immersive world of gaming, or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Where did you first hear of NUCB? What made you choose the Global BBA Program? How was the application process?

NUCB first caught my attention when Freddy Mason visited my school for a vibrant university fair. His passion for the courses and the diverse student community instantly piqued my interest. The application process was seamless, thanks to the comprehensive guidance provided in the Application Guide. While crafting a compelling essay undoubtedly plays a crucial role, it was the interview experience that truly stood out for me. As someone who thrives on meaningful connections, I appreciated the opportunity to engage with faculty members and fellow applicants. Moreover, I see the case method as an invaluable tool for honing not just academic acumen, but also vital communication skills essential for success in today's dynamic world.

What has been your favorite class / professor / case so far and why?

My favorite class so far has been 'Doing Business in Japan' with Professor Hakeem. As a macroeconomics enthusiast, delving into the course's exploration of Japan's macroeconomic trends was incredibly fulfilling. Professor Hakeem's adept use of the case method made each session engaging and interactive. He skillfully wove together diverse perspectives from our class, fostering rich discussions and deepening our understanding of real-world business scenarios.

What kind of student excels at NUCB?

To thrive at NUCB, embracing the case method demands a blend of essential skills and attitudes. Strong communication skills, a willingness to think innovatively, and a readiness for lively debates are paramount. With students hailing from diverse corners of the globe, every classroom discussion becomes a melting pot of fresh perspectives. Success lies in not just understanding but actively incorporating these varied viewpoints into your own analysis. At NUCB, there's no such thing as a wrong answer—only opportunities to broaden your horizons and enrich your learning journey.

What dormitory are you in, what do you think of it?

I currently live in the Meito Dormitory. So far it has been a great experience, there is a grocery store, pharmacy, and 100 yen store about 5 minutes by foot from the dorm which makes it extremely convenient to pick up groceries or supplies for class. Theres a plethora of restaurants in the Meito area, and to burn my food the gym is located just 5 minutes away from the dorm.
The community lounge is a great place where you can constantly meet new people, get some work done , or even just play games. Every now and then, the university holds events in the lounge.
