Please introduce yourself

My name is Liam. I am half Filipino, quarter Swiss, and quarter Dutch. I joined NUCB during Fall 2024.

Why did you want to study in Japan?

I wanted to study in Japan because I fell in love with Japanese culture years ago when I first visited Japan. I was really fascinated by their strong determination and organization not just in the workforce, but in the daily lives of the Japanese people. The food also played a big role obviously.

What dormitory are you in, what do you think of it?

The dormitory I chose to stay in is Meito dormitory because of its location. It is farther from school, however it is also easier to travel to the main center city of Nagoya. The dormitory is very clean and modern, and has just enough space for one person to stay in. There is also an Aeon supermarket that is a 3 minute walk  which is very convenient.

What do you think of the diversity of NUCB? (students and professors)

NUCB has a very diverse student body. I have classmates from all over the world, and it’s great to learn about their cultures and explore our differences. Our professors are also internationally diverse, with degrees from top global universities, giving us broader perspectives in the classroom.

What kind of student excels at NUCB?

The ideal NUCB student embraces challenges, takes calculated risks, and actively engages in the learning process. Success here requires more than academic ability—it takes open-minded, proactive individuals who are eager to discuss, collaborate, and share their unique perspectives.
