Please introduce yourself

My name is Ariel Abad from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I’m a first-year Global BBA student at NUCB. At sixteen, I spent a year in Nagoya as a high school exchange student. That experience changed how I saw Japan and inspired me to return for university.

Where did you first hear of NUCB? What made you choose the Global BBA Program?
How was the application process?

I first heard about NUCB from my host family and friends during my exchange. I liked the Global BBA program’s international focus and practical style. The application process was smooth but required preparation, including essays and an interview that made me reflect on my goals. I appreciated that NUCB values passion and global curiosity.

What has been your favorite class, professor, or case so far and why?

My favorite class so far is Introduction to Entrepreneurship with Professor Hiroshi Uchikoga, which inspired me to think practically about starting a business. I also enjoyed case studies with Professor Ricardo Lim on AI and Professor Kenji Yokoyama on Juchheim, which connected global strategy and family business in an interesting way.

What has been your most memorable moment so far?

I really loved the entrance ceremony and the welcome buffet for international students. They made me feel like a part of the NUCB community from day one.

What do you do in your free time before/after class and on weekends?

In my free time, I usually go to the gym at NUCB or spend time preparing for case studies in my apartment. Sometimes, I take short trips around Nagoya or visit cafés to gather ideas for my own business. I also enjoy running, improving my Japanese, and practicing martial arts, which help me stay active and focused.
