Aukey (Bangladesh) Bangkok Prep International School

Please introduce yourself

My name is Aukey, and I’m from Bangladesh. I recently completed my A Levels at Bangkok Prep in Thailand, where I spent the last two years living and studying during high school.

What is your impression of the Case Study Method? Did you have any experience at high school with this style?

Coming from an A Level background, I have experience with the case study method, particularly in Business and Accounting, where we regularly analyzed cases and answered related questions. I enjoy this approach because it tackles real-life scenarios, making learning more practical and engaging. Since I aspire to work in the business field, I find this method especially suited to my learning style. I genuinely enjoy these classes, although some of the cases can occasionally feel a bit lengthy.

What has been your favorite class / professor / case so far and why?

My favorite class is definitely Design Thinking with Professor Goi. He’s an amazing teacher, and his class is always engaging and fun. I found this course to be the most challenging, as it pushed me to think critically, manage my time effectively, and work under pressure all of which taught me a great deal. As part of the course, we developed an app in a project called 'Rescue Gen Z,' and I found the entire process incredibly interesting and rewarding.

Are you working part-time or planning to?

Yes, I work part-time at an English teaching school as a homework trainer. It’s a reliable job for me, as I can work remotely and earn money to support my living expenses in Japan. The flexible hours are also a big plus, and I’m really glad I found this opportunity.

Are you part of any clubs or language exchange?

I participated in a language exchange during my first semester, and it was a great experience getting to meet Japanese students at the university, many of whom I’m still in touch with. They were all really friendly and welcoming.

Are you thinking of doing an exchange or double degree?

Yes, I really appreciate how NUCB is connected with so many universities around the world, and I definitely plan to take advantage of this opportunity. I’m currently planning to go on exchange during the first semester of my third year.

What kind of student excels at NUCB?

I believe a student needs good communication skills to thrive here. The university encourages a lot of discussion, active participation, and building connections with others. Engaging in conversations, attending events, and contributing in class are some of the best ways to succeed as a student.
