Please introduce yourself
My name is Zakry Aris Sazaly, a 20-year-old from Malaysia and the second child in my family.
What is your impression of the Case Study Method? Did you have any experience at high school with this style?
Since entering NUCB, I was introduced to the Case Study Method for the first time. In Malaysian high schools, where answers were seen as right or wrong, I was often hesitant to speak up. At NUCB, students are encouraged to express their opinions, and diverse perspectives are valued. This has helped me broaden my thinking and learn from others with different backgrounds.
What do you do in your free time before/after class and on weekends?
I follow a routine to stay focused. I wake at 6:30, review notes, and prepare for case studies. Music helps me get ready for class. After class, I eat lunch in my room, take a short nap, then work on assignments. On weekends, I mostly stay home, reflecting and finishing work.
How would you describe the student life here?
Student life here has been fantastic. The university’s support system helped me adjust and grow. Beyond academics, students are encouraged to join clubs, events, and competitions, creating a balanced life where we can enjoy studies and experience Japanese culture.
Do you have any advice for those considering NUCB?
For any student considering NUCB, I say go for it! Even though I’ve only been here for a month, it has already been one of the most impactful experiences of my life. You’ll be introduced to so many new things, both in and out of the classroom. The experiences you gain here are truly unique compared to other universities, and I haven’t regretted my decision to apply to NUCB for even a moment.
