Tomohiro Tsuchiya, a 2008 graduate of NUCB, got his dream come true and became a professional baseball player when Rakuten Eagles picked him as 5th draft choice. While he was at NUCB, he was our ace pitcher and helped our hardball baseball team to come back to the top league of Aichi University Baseball League.
We all wish his great performances and success as a professional baseball player.

Peach trees on the Nisshin campus come into bloom this week. The peach trees are considered good for warding off evil. It is mentioned in the Kojiki (Record of Ancient Matters) as an instrument of salvation used to rescue a god from trouble. There is a common saying that “Momo kuri sannen kaki hachi nen.” The peach grows quickly but has a short life span. Peach and chestnut trees are said to take three years to mature, and the persimmon eight!

To provide more of an opportunity for highly-motivated students to acquire specialized knowledge and skills, we are promoting an integrated undergraduate/graduate educational program which stresses its link with the Graduate School.

The Graduate School attaches great importance to the concept of assurance of learning, and to produce graduates who will become pillars of society, a program has been developed that focuses on the necessary knowledge and communication skills.

Branch campuses of the Graduate School were opened in Tokyo (Marunouchi) and Osaka (Umeda) in 2005 and 2007 respectively. We are now proud of being the nation's largest graduate school accommodating 360 students and aiming at 500 students within three years and 1,000 students in ten years. Plans are underway to open branches outside of Japan and increase partnership programs with foreign universities. Efforts have been made to create an appealing graduate program by orienting it towards the structure of a business school on the Euro-American model.
