How is your life in Japan?

Navigating life as a Muslim in Japan initially posed challenges, particularly in finding halal food options. While most fast food chains do not offer halal food, there are Turkish and Egyptian restaurants in Nagoya, and seafood remains a viable choice.

However, at the NUCB Nisshin Campus cafeteria, there are halal food items available, and there is also a prayer room on campus where we can pray. With halal-friendly options both on and off-campus, as well as a dedicated prayer space, NUCB ensures that the diverse needs of its Muslim students are respected and met, fostering an environment where cultural exchange and inclusivity thrive.

Why did you want to study in Japan and at NUCB?

I chose to study in Japan due to my fascination with its unique blend of tradition and innovation. Japan is renowned for its world-class education, advanced technology, and rich cultural heritage. Moreover, studying in Japan provides an opportunity to explore a different way of life and broaden my horizons. Specifically, I am drawn to Japan's car industry and aspire to pursue a career in this field, recognizing Japan as the ideal place to do so.

I first learned about NUCB from my cousin who was already studying here. The Global BBA Program at NUCB stood out to me because of its international focus and reputation for producing globally competitive graduates. I also wanted to experience the case study method. The application process was straightforward, and the university's support staff were very helpful in guiding me through it.

What is your impression of the Case Study Method? Did you have any experience at high school with this style?

The Case Study Method at NUCB has been an eye-opening experience. It encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication, which are invaluable skills for the business world. I didn't have prior experience with this method in high school, but I've found it to be an effective way to learn and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.

What is your favorite facility on campus?

My favorite facility on campus is the library (Central Information Center), which offers a peaceful and conducive environment for studying. It's a great place to focus and prepare for classes or work on group projects. The library's staff is always ready to assist. Whether I need help locating a specific book, navigating an online database, or just seeking a recommendation for a good reading they are always helpful.

What do you think of the diversity of NUCB - students and professors?

NUCB's diversity is one of its strengths. The university brings together students and professors from various backgrounds, fostering a rich and inclusive learning environment. It's been an eye-opening experience to learn alongside individuals with different perspectives. Students share their real life experiences and also give some examples from their home country which creates a great global environment and helps others to learn more about different cultures.

What is one thing that surprised you the most after enrolling?

One thing that surprised me the most after enrolling at NUCB is the level of support and guidance provided by the university staff. They genuinely care about the students' success and well-being, which has made my transition to studying in Japan much smoother than I expected. The faculty and also the students are super friendly and cooperative. Everyone is willing to help whenever you need it. This sort of environment was the thing that surprised me the most.

Do you have any advice for those considering NUCB?

My advice to those considering NUCB is to be open to new experiences, actively engage with the case study method, and take advantage of the university's resources and networking opportunities. Embrace the cultural differences, as they provide valuable learning experiences. Japan is one of the best places to live in the world and learning at NUCB along with that is the best combo to me. Unlike other universities here you will get a diverse and global environment which makes it stand out from the others
