Misako Ikeda

Biography

ハーバード大学の人文自然科学大学院・歴史/中東研究科博士課程修了。1999年より光陵女子短期大学にて任務。2007年より名古屋商科大学外国語学部を経て2010年より現職。中東研究、特にエジプト近現代史を専門とする。近代化、植民地化、ナショナリズムに彩られた19世紀から20世紀半ばまでのエジプトを主な研究対象とする。政治変動の背後にある社会の変化や世論を探る社会史/知識史の研究を経て、現在はエジプトの議会や立憲主義の展開の研究に取り組んでいる。エジプトには100年以上も前から議会や立憲運動の歴史があることはあまり知られていないが、これは現在政治的な混迷が続くエジプトや中東を長期的視野で考える上で重要な課題と考えている。現在担当している科目は「中東の文化と社会」「異文化コミュニケーション」「ジェンダー論」「SEMINAR」「アクティブラーニング入門」である。また、これまでに「比較文化論」「イスラーム社会とアメリカ」などの他に、EDHECの交換留学生対象の科目として「Issues of Gender in Japan」、GLP科目として「Cross-Cultural Understanding in Globalization」「Topics in International Politics」を担当した。主な著書に『ナセル　アラブ民族主義の隆盛と終焉』（山川出版社）、主な翻訳に『全訳イラン･エジプト・トルコ議会内規』（東洋文庫、共訳）などがある。
