講義概要

LG I Acquisition of general thinking skills by integrating theory and practice: Students will undertake research projects that will allow them to practice summary and analysis skills. Students will present their findings in class, which further corroborates speaking practice and the organization of their thoughts and ideas.

LG II Acquisition of relevant communication competence: Students will improve their vocabulary and fluency via weekly informal presentations and reactions to both global and personal issues. They impromptu debate in small groups in order to gain confidence in their skills. Students will recycle input (from readings, videos and recordings) directly into formulating conversations and reactions to the themes at hand.

LG III Learning how to use information technology effectively: CALL related SAC activities will be included in student's grade.

LG IV Acquisition of internationally relevant competences and thinking skills: Students will exercise the basic premise of democratic debate and defend their opinions with facts and values. They will consider issues impacting the global community. As we discuss issues affecting the U.S or Korea, for example, students will have the opportunity to contrast their own cultural heritage with that of other nations.
