Dr Goi Hoe Chin possesses a doctorate degree in Media and Governance from Keio University and Master in Business Administration from Waseda University. Currently, Dr Goi researches on gestation of student based venture in university and teaches subjects, such as “Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneur”, “Design Thinking” and “Research in New Venture Creation” and “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” in NUCB. In terms of research, Dr Goi explores qualitative research using design science and case study methodology to construct conceptual model and create new theories. He extends the model into solution for gestation venture. Based on the past researches, Dr Goi has been recognized in several academic awards, such as “Best Journal paper (peered reviewed) in Journal of Association for Policy Informatics 情報政策学会誌 in Japan (2016), and “Best Practice Paper” at 20th IntEnt Conference held in Arnhem, Netherlands (2010) As a practitioner in entrepreneurship education and incubation, Dr Goi has designed and implemented “University-based Venture Gestation Program (UVGP)”, which incorporated entrepreneurship workshop and business plan contest as his educational achievement. He has taught more than 2500 students in business plan creation and evaluated more than 500 business plans from Asian cutting edge universities, such as in Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam since 2010 till present. Beyond that, Dr Goi has also incubated and experimented on 4 student-based gestation ventures, as well as created 4 Asian based case studies for entrepreneurship education.
